#NigeriaDecides: Peter Obi Leads Tinubu, Atiku In Benue

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has said he would have worked for the victory of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi if circumstances were different.

The Benue governor stated that he would have supported Obi for the 2023 presidency if he were not a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ortom made this known on Wednesday when he hosted the former Anambra State governor at his private residence in Abuja.

The Benue governor stated that the LP presidential candidate may not be as heavyweight as other frontline flagbearers, but can win next year’s election if God decides.

“I’m in PDP and I am working for PDP but I tell you if I were not in PDP, you will see me working for Peter Obi but I am in PDP. Let’s see how things work out but the truth is that the Bible says a man can receive nothing except it is given to him,” he said.

Ortom identified Obi, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar of the PDP as the three frontline candidates, appealing to the three candidates to meet and agree on one of them.

He also encouraged Nigerians to go into the 2023 general elections with the mindset of electing the best presidential candidate among the top hopefuls.

According to Ortom, Nigeria currently runs on oxygen and would need a hands-on and detribalised leader to restore hope, development and progress.
