List Of Governors Present At Oyebanji’s Swearing In As Ekiti Governor

Some Nigerian Governors on Sunday attended the swearing-in ceremony of Biodun Oyebanji as the Governor of Ekiti State.

Naija News recalls that Oyebanji was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ekiti governorship election held on June 18, 2022.

He garnered 187,057 votes to beat his closest rival, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, who polled 82,211 votes and Otunba Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party who raked in 67,457 votes.

Present at the swearing-in ceremony are governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP).

The inauguration of Oyebanji as the new Ekiti governor took place at the Ekiti Parapo Pavillion in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Oyebanji served as the former Secretary to the State Governor under the administration of Fayemi before he resigned to pick up the APC governorship ticket.

Below is the list of governors present at the inauguration:

Governor Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa)

Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun)

Governor Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi)

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo)

Governor Simon Lalong (Plateau)

Governor Godwin Obaseki (Edo)

Governor Gboyega Oyetola (Osun)

Also present at the ceremony are the immediate past Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, his predecessor, Ayodele Fayose; the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu; and the outgoing Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi.

Others are the Minister of Trade Industry and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; Ekiti Speaker Funminiyi Afuye and former Chief of Defence Staff, Gabriel Olonsakin.

Former Chief of Army Staff, Azubike Iherijika; the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu; Osun Deputy Governor Adegboyega Alabi who represented Oyetola; Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi were among other dignitaries in attendance.

Oyebanji has taken his oath of office as the Ekiti State Governor. He was administered the oath of office by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, at exactly 12:53 pm.
