‘Offering Vault Thief’ Who Made Way With 600K Paraded

The Ekiti State Police Command has Paraded one Akindele Opeyemi Olufemi, 32, who was arrested at a “Stop and Search Point” of the Safer Highways of the Command.

Speaking about the development, the police in the statement released noted that they caught the suspect during their routine stop and search at Igbara Odd- Akure Road.

After a thorough search, they discovered that  the man carried a school bag full with different denomination of Nigerian currency.

Upon interrogation it was found out that the suspect had traveled from Iro-para-Ekiti to Christ Apostolic Church Campground, Ikeja, Arakeji, Osun State, to steal the money from the offering safe of the church.

He later confessed to the commission of the crime, saying that he served in the church for two years as a security guard and resigned earlier this year.

He said he went back to the Camp Ground in the guise of a “Personal all night Prayer” and made way to the church offering vault and carted away the money.

The Money when counted was six hundred thousand, one hundred and fifteen naira (600,115 Naira)

He will be charged to court, alongside other criminals who were apprehended by the State Police Command.
