Why Osinbajo, Mustapha Were Not Included In APC Campaign Council - Atiku Camp

The spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, Daniel Bwala, has claimed to know why Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, were left out of the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign council.

Naija News reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC), before the 2023 general elections, released a list containing 422 names of notable individuals as members and department heads in Tinubu’s presidential campaign council.

While President Muhammadu Buhari was named as the Chairman of the campaign council, Osinbajo and Mustapha were not included in the 422-member list.

Reacting via a post on his Twitter page on Saturday, Bwala said Osinbajo and Mustapha refused to be part of the campaign council because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket fielded by the ruling party for the 2023 presidential election.

The PDP campaign council spokesman commended the duo for asking the ruling APC to exempt them from the campaign council.

Bwala, therefore, advised Nigerians to say no to religious politics, stressing that the people will be the ones to decide the forthcoming general elections.

We salute the courage of Professor Osinbajo and Boss Mustapha for rejecting the MM ticket by asking to be left out of the campaign council of APC. Say no to religious politics. Nigerians would decide at the polls,” he wrote.

Buhari Told Us Not To Include Osinbajo In Tinubu’s Campaign Council – APC

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Tinubu presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo, in a statement released on Saturday, explained that President Muhammadu Buhari specifically requested that Osinbajo and Mustapha should be excluded from the campaign council.

According to him, Buhari’s reason for the call was so the leaders could focus on governance as he is also part of the campaign council.

Keyamo said APC will not at this moment toe the path of those who governed the country in an irresponsible manner.

He boasted that the ruling party is not in total disarray like those claiming they want to ‘rescue’ the country, “but cannot simply manage their own internal affairs.”
