The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has arrived in Lagos State for the 13th Memorial Lecture of late human rights lawyer and activist, Gani Fawehinmi.

Naija News reports that the Convener of the #RevolutionNow movement is a guest speaker at the event which is held within the Ikeja area of Lagos today.

The latest development is coming three years after Sowore was arrested at midnight by the Department of State Service (DSS).

Recall that Sowore was arrested by DSS on 3rd August 2019, for planning to hold a #RevolutionNow protest slated for 5th August of the same year.

He was later charged with treasonable felony among others and was released on 24th December 2019.

Sowore was thereafter put under city arrest and was not allowed to leave the Federal Capital Territory until a Court of Appeal in Abuja lifted the movement restriction within the country on 13th April 2022.

However, the AAC flagbearer is still restricted by a court order from travelling out of the country, as his passport was seized.

Apart from coming to Lagos for the first time since his arrest, Sowore will also speak at the 13th memorial of late lawyer and activist, Fawehinmi, who died 5th September 2009.
