2023: Deji Adeyanju Reacts To 'Attack' On Kwankwaso In Kogi

Political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has condemned the alleged attack on the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Kogi State on Wednesday.

Reports had emerged earlier claiming that the former Governor of Kano State, who visited Kogi for the inauguration of the party’s secretariat and campaign office, was booed and stoned by some hoodlums, Naija News reports.

It was claimed in the report that the presidential hopeful was also stoned with sachets of water while trying to woo loyalists of the late former Kogi governor, Abubakar Audu in Lokoja, the state capital.

However, in a statement on Thursday, Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation denied claims that the NNPP presidential candidate was embarrassed in Kogi.

The statement released by the spokesperson of the organisation, Ladipo Johnson, said the reports were fake, saying that Kwankwaso was given a warm welcome in the state.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter handle, Adeyanju said the reported attack on Kwankwaso and the NNPP guber candidate in Kogi state is condemnable.

The former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that politics must not degenerate to the level of attacking politicians.

He wrote: “The attack on NNPP guber candidate in Kogi State & Kwankwaso is hereby condemned. Politics must not degenerate to that level.”
