Zamfara: Gov Matawalle Sacks Special Adviser Over Alleged Gross Incompetence


Matawalle Suspends APC Campaign In Zamfara

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has sacked his Special Adviser over alleged incompetence.

Though the governor did not mention in detail the offences of the aide, a statement released on Sunday in Gusau, the state capital, quoted the governor as saying his adviser, Hon. Kabiru Sahabi Liman is not capable of maintaining the exalted position.

Naija News reports that Liman’s appointment termination was confirmed in a press release signed and issued to reporters yesterday by the Secretary to the State Government, (SSG), Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe.

Balarabe said, in the statement, that Liman’s job termination followed a close monitoring exercise, which revealed, amongst other things, that he is grossly incompetent to undertake the responsibilities and public trust associated with the exalted position of a Special Adviser.

According to him, the monitoring exercise would be a continuous one, aimed at reinvigorating public service delivery, ensuring public trust and facilitating good governance in the State.

Dismissed Zamfara Emir, Atiku Dies In Dubai

Dismissed Emir of Zurmi in Zamfara State, Atiku Abubakar Muhammad has reportedly died.

Naija News learnt on Sunday that Atiku who had suffered an undisclosed illness died at a private hospital in Abu Dhabi in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

A family member, Sani Zurmi, confirmed the sad development to The PUNCH on Sunday, August 28, 2022, noting that the remains of the deceased is yet to be brought to Nigeria for burial.

“His remains are still in Dubai due to non-availability of plight to bring the deceased back home for burial”, the media outlet quoted Zurmi as saying.

Naija News recalls that the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle had in June 2021, suspended Atiku from being the Emir of Zurmi over his alleged involvement with bandits‘ activities in the kingdom.
