Apart from the presidential candidates, Naija News understands other top politicians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, royal fathers, traditional rulers, captains of industries, and other dignitaries are expected at the four-day event.
According to Wadada, the aim of the event is to douse the tension in the polity and ensure a peaceful 2023 elections.
In his words, ”Already the political atmosphere in the country is charged ahead of the commencement of campaigns by all presidential candidates.
”It might hot up in the next couple of months, hence the need for the tournament in order to douse tension in the political space.”
He urged politicians to avoid provocative and inciting statements as campaigns are about to kick off officially.
”For those of us that are politicians, we must avoid provocative statements, we must avoid threatening ourselves.
”It is saddening that we make statements that are provocative and the younger ones are listening to us,” he said.
The organizer added that the aim of the event is “to achieve a non-violent political atmosphere before, during and after the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.”
