Various reactions have trailed the meeting between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Naija News earlier reported that Adeboye met with Tinubu on Sunday reportedly over his decision to settle for a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.

According to ThisDay, Adeboye’s meeting with Tinubu took place on Sunday at the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The former Lagos State governor’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is an assistant pastor with RCCG, alongside others, attended the meeting.

He met Adeboye on Sunday. The meeting was very fruitful. Adeboye is not against Muslim-Muslim ticket,” a source told ThisDay.

Recall, that Tinubu announced the choice of former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, as his running mate after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura home in Katsina State.

However, some netizens have taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to express their views on the meeting between the two leaders.

Below are some of the reactions.

@Vigourjr wrote: “So Christians and pastors are important but he didn’t consider that when he chose his running mate. Any pastor, a Christian that will campaign or vote for Tinubu and Shettima doesn’t have sense.

@IbharahE wrote: “Me, I know papa Adebayo will just give him parable and leave. He will then pray for his family and ambition. But you see this election this church will speak and her voice will be heard. The church will not be silenced anymore

“Enough is enough!”

@Cryptogoodness1 wrote: “I heard that Tinubu and his ‘senior pastor’ wife went to discuss his M/M ticket on Sunday with Adeboye of RCCG and that the latter is not against the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“I see a repeat of the 2015 betrayal of Christianity by this man and others like him. We are watching.

@FmardB wrote: “Asiwaju is doing the right thing by consulting leaders of the Christian Church community.

@Sir_JayOfficial wrote: “This is putting cart before the horse. He should have consulted widely before making his choice public. The major issue is the in-your-face way he went about it.”

@Samsonajisafe1 wrote: “Meeting Adeboye by Asiwaju is a welcome development and a wise step to take to assure the Christian community of a peaceful country after taking over come next year May.

@Dablazematic wrote: “Why is he now going to meet and beg Christian leaders since he said there is no competent Christian from the North to pick as his Vice Presidential candidate, his Candidacy is Dead on Arrival.

@UnanmaChinenye wrote: For what now? So the man should endorse it? Pa Adeboye should be careful oo. They can manipulate this visit as an endorsement. Since APC sees nothing with that combination…they go ahead with it. Enough of all this hullabaloo!”

@ApoesoBabatope wrote: “So he didn’t know that Pastor Adeboye exist before going for a Muslim-Muslim ticket!!! It’s dead on arrival. Even in Lagos, APC would not win come 2023. We shall see if Christians are important or not!!!

@OLOWOOKEREKOLA8 wrote: “Good move. Reach out to as many as possible.

@yettoore wrote: “Even meeting the Pope will not do the trick for him.”

@Ayomide66672292 wrote: “If he like make he meet with God, we no want BAT in our nation.”
