Nigerians Should Tell You Enough Is Enough – ASUU Clapback At Buhari

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has reacted to the ‘enough is enough’ comment of President Muhammadu Buhari on its ongoing strike.

Buhari on Monday had charged lecturers who had been on strike since February 14 to return to their classrooms in the interest of their students.

The president stated this when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, lawmakers and other dignitaries in Daura, Katsina State.

The President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke while reacting to the president’s statements in a chat with The Nation on Tuesday said it is the union and Nigerians who voted for the leaders that should tell them enough is enough.

Osodeke condemned the government for not reaching out to the union leadership a month after concluding negotiations with the Nimi Briggs–led committee.

ASUU: Nollywood Actor Reveals Terrible Condition Of Striking Lecturers, Seek Funds

Nollywood Actor cum philanthropist Williams Uchemba has revealed the pathetic condition of striking university lecturers, while calling on well-meaning Nigerians for donations and support.

Naija News reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike since February 14, 2022, over unresolved issues with the federal government.

Following the lingering strike, the actor disclosed that some set of lecturers reached out to him for some financial help.

According to the father of one in a video shared on social media on Monday, the lecturers complained of their inability to feed and cater for their families since they embarked on the strike.

He added that the lecturers told him they had exhausted all their savings and had nothing to fall back on.

Uchemba then called on Nigerians to help with whatever they have got to support the striking lecturers so they can be able to feed their families.
