Sheikh Gumi’s Aide Links Terrorists Behind Train Attack To Kuje Prison Attack, Says Govt Was Warned
The Ansaru terrorists that attacked and abducted passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna bound train on March 28 have been linked to the Tuesday night attack on the Kuje Medium Correctional Centre in Abuja.
Naija News reported that the heavily armed gunmen invaded the federal facility around 10.30 pm and successfully operated for about one hour unhindered yesterday.
Over six hundred inmates including members of the dreaded Boko Haram group reportedly escaped the facility during the attack.
It was gathered that the terrorists were able to beat checkpoints mounted by security agencies through the use of motorcycles.
Speaking on the incident on Wednesday in Kaduna State, Mallam Tukur Mamu, Media Consultant to a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, stated alleged that the Kuje prison attack was carried out by the Abuja-Kaduna train attackers.
The PUNCH quoted Mamu as saying that prior to last night’s attack, he shared intelligence reports with concerned government and security formations but they paid a deaf ear to his signals.
