Buhari Returns To Abuja After Visit To Portugal (Photos)

After spending four days in Portugal on a state visit, President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital on Saturday.

Naija News recalls that President Buhari departed for Portugal on Tuesday courtesy of an invitation by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal.

While in Portugal, the Nigerian leader met with the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas. He was presented with the ‘key of the city of Lisbon’ and also received the Portuguese National Honour in Lisbon.

President Buhari also attended the 2022 United Nations (UN) Ocean Conference and signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MOU).

Some of the MOUs are based on political consultations, diplomatic training, cooperation in the field of culture, and women and girls development.

The President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare and Minister ofCommunication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.

Others on his entourage included National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno (rtd); Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar and Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
