Muslim-Muslim, Christian-Christian Tickets Can’t Get You Free Food – Tinubu’s Support Group To Nigerians

'Why Tinubu Has Not Sent Prefered List Of Perefered Running Mate To Buhari For Approval'
APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s support group has admonished Nigerians to get over the worries about who and which region its candidate is picking his running mate from.

The APC Zonal Secretary, South-South, Dr Blessing Agbomhere made the call in a statement handed to newsmen on Saturday, saying that a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket cannot guarantee free food for Nigerians, hence citizens should be focused on the best candidate to help the country recover from it lasts.

Agbomhere said the party’s priority at the moment is to win the 2023 presidential election, and that its victory is solely dependent on the support from Nigerians.

He stressed that Nigerians at this crucial time should be interested in the candidate and political party that will bring desired development to the country and not whether Tinubu would pick a Muslim or Christian as his running mate.

He said: “All we need to do is to focus on winning the 2023 presidential election as a party and our victory will depend on our ability to carry Nigerians along.

“We cannot afford to lose focus by being distracted about who Tinubu may decide to choose as his running mate. The solution to the challenges confronting Nigeria does not rest on whether the running mate to Tinubu is Christian or Muslim.

“Nigerians are not interested in who becomes running mate to any of the presidential candidates. What they need is good governance that would guarantee security, stable polity and social-economic progress.”

Agbomhere added: “Nobody can carry a pass to the market based on Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian tickets for Asiwaju or any other Presidential candidate and get food items free. They only need a ticket that would guarantee the availability of products and economic empowerment to meet their needs.”

He stressed that the party both at the state and federal level is ready to support the candidacy of Tinubu irrespective of who eventually emerged as his standard-running mate.

Agbomhere insisted that it was within the constitutional rights of Tinubu to pick his running mate, irrespective of the religious affiliation of the person.
