APC Presidential Primary: Buhari In Closed-door Meeting With Yahaya Bello

President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello are currently in a closed-door meeting in Aso Rock, Naija News learnt.

The meeting Naija News understands is coming hours after Governor Bello withdrew himself from a meeting involving All Progressives Congress Northern governors on Monday.

The meeting was said to be part of the APC’s preparations for the presidential primaries today in Abuja. The North Central state governor, however, was captured on camera angrily leaving the meeting venue. He was heard in the viral video saying he won’t take whatever it is they are offering.

“I won’t take it. I am going to address the press now,” Governor Bello said.

However, just hours ahead of the party’s presidential primaries today, reports reaching Naija News confirmed that Governor Bello is currently meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Naija News reports that the Kogi state governor is among the 23 presidential aspirants of the APC cleared to contest for the primary of the party.

Despite APC governors from the North resolving that power should shift to the south, Governor Bello was the only governor who disagreed with the development.

The agenda of the meeting between the president and the governor was not made known, but there are indications that Bello may discuss his decision on whether he will step down or not with the president.
