2023: Shina Peller Visits NNPP Chieftain

The leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Oyo State, Adebisi Olopoeyan on Wednesday met with the lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Shina Peller.

This is coming after Peller lost in the All Progressives Congress North Senatorial District primary election.

The ticket for the senatorial district was won by the incumbent lawmaker, Fatai Buhari.

Four aspirants who contested against Buhari, including Peller, alleged manipulation.

There are speculations that Peller might join the fast-growing NNPP following his visit to Olopoeyan, who also recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Peller while addressing some of his supporters said his visit to Olopoeyan’s residence was not politically motivated.

The lawmaker further stated that Olopoeyan and his late father, Professor Peller, had a very good relationship and that he also related well with his father’s ally.

Peller said, “I came to visit a political guru, a brother who was a close ally of my dad when he was alive.

“Alhaji Olopoeyan is a well-respected politician, but my coming here today is to pay homage to my dad’s friend who has also been playing a brotherly role for me since.”

Peller when asked if he would still contest the Oyo North Senatorial District election, he said, “I will surely contest the Oyo North Senatorial District election in 2023.”
