2023: Masanawa Resigns As Nigeria Security Printing And Minting Company Boss

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), Abbas Masanawa, has resigned from his position.

Naija News reports that Masanawa resigned his appointment to contest the governorship ticket in Katsina State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

His resignation followed the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari directing ministers and political appointees seeking elective offices to resign on or before May 16.

In a chat with reporters on Monday in Abuja, Masanawa said he has vacated his office in line with section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022 and President Buhari’s directive.

The former NSPMC boss said he has submitted his resignation letter to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

He said: “Absolutely, I have abided completely with the presidential directive. And I’ve resigned my appointment as the managing director, and chief executive officer of Nigeria Security, Printing and Minting,” he said.

“I sent in my resignation through the chairman of the board, who also happens to be the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“The governor of the Central Bank is the chairman of the board of Nigeria security, printing and minting. I have surely done that.”
