2023: Buhari To Meet Malami, Ngige, Amaechi, Others Over Political Ambition

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to meet with members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) with political ambitions who have been directed to resign.

The Special Assitant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday.

Shehu said the President will meet with the ministers who have resigned and those yet to vacate their offices at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The presidential spokesman disclosed that the President would also organise a farewell meeting for the ministers and political appointees in the coming days.

Naija News reports that the ministers affected include Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio; Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu,  and Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Others are the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva; Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Uche Ogah and Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen.

Naija News reports this is coming a day after Ngige said he is not in a hurry to resign and he would have to consult with the President and his constituents before tendering his resignation.

The minister explained that Buhari had given some time for those that need clarifications on his pronouncement to meet him.

“I have no reaction for now because the President said if anyone wants clarifications, the person should meet him.

“So I have to consult him and consult my constituents, Anambra state because I am holding the office for the government and my constituents,” he had said.
