Illegal Detention: Court Orders Substituted Service On AGF, DSS And CG Of Correctional Service

A 29-year-old man, Aliu Oladeji has being remanded in a custodial centre by Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly beating a thief to death.

The accused was arraigned in court on charges of conspiracy and murder.

The prosecutor, Inspector Foluke Adedosu told the court that the defendant conspired with others to carry out the dire act.

It was disclosed on March 4 around 2.30am that the deceased identified as Sodiq was beaten to death

The offence is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under sections 319 and 324 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The Chief Magistrate, I. O. Osho refused the plea of the defendant and ordered that he be remanded in the Abolongo Custodial Centre, Oyo town, on Wednesday April 13, pending legal advice.

The case was later adjourned to July 4, for mention.

In other news, an Edo businesswoman, Fatima Isa, has lost her life after a male nurse performed a fibroid removal surgery on her.

The victims family are demanding justice following her death at a Clinic in the Mafoluku area of Oshodi, Lagos State.

According to Punch, the victim and her sister left their residence in Auchi Edo state and travelled to Lagos for the surgery. Read more
