Residents of Galadima Kogo in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State were on Friday left in disarray after a bomb explosion rocked the community.
Reports reaching Naija News at this time confirmed that an Improvised Explosive Device allegedly planted by Boko Haram terrorists exploded in the community yesterday.
Though no casualty has been reported yet, co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths of Niger State, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, however, confirmed the attack was true.
Kokki said preliminary reports are suggestive of no loss. He noted that the affected areas are not yet accessible due to fear of further possible explosions.
The explosion comes a few days after the first-ever bomb blast occurred at the same Galadima Kogo on Monday, Naija News understands.
The leader asked the military to respond robustly to the cases of killings and kidnappings in the State
The President’s directive was confirmed in a statement issued through his Media Assistant, Garba Shehu, Naija News reports.
Niger State communities have come under attack from bandits and remnants of Boko Haram terrorists fleeing theatres of war in the Northwestern and Northeastern parts of the country.
President Buhari has, however, asked the Defence HQ to give effect to the strategic objectives through the use of force.
In his message to the government and people of Niger State, President Buhari said, “I would like to express sincere sympathies to the government and people of the State following recent security incidents.”
Buhari reiterated that security is a responsibility of every member of the community and only through solidarity and cooperation with law enforcement agencies can we defeat the problems finally.
“The Federal Government is willing to strengthen support and cooperation with all the states. I believe that with the full cooperation of the citizens, we will surely overcome this problem,” said the President.
