Without Atiku's Arrogance, Nigeria Would Have Had A Different President Today - Adeyanju

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju says those hoping President Muhammadu Buhari won’t complete his tenure and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would take over should perish the thought.

He stated that those promoting the idea of a takeover by Atiku only want to extort the former Vice President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News understands Adeyanju made the submission in his reaction to an appeal filed by the Incorporated Trustees of the Civil Society Observatory for Constitutional and Legal Compliance (CSOCLC) before the court asking it to sack Buhari as Nigeria’s leader and replace him with Atiku.

The civil society organization in an appeal claimed that the affidavit made by the President in the 2019 general elections was false, asking the court to order the swearing-in of Abubakar.

It stated that all the academic qualification documents as filled by the President in his Presidential Form which is currently with the Secretary, Military Board as at the time of the affidavit are false.

The group said in the event its reliefs succeed, the appeal court should nullify the election that produce President Buhari and withdraw the certificate of return to office issued to him in 2019.

It also wants the court to issue a new certificate of return to Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), being the candidate who came second in the 2019 general elections.

However, President Buhari has asked the Court of Appeal in Abuja to throw out an appeal seeking to nullify his election.

Reacting to the development, Adeyanju in a Twitter post claimed Atiku can’t win in court and he himself knows this.

“Atiku is not coming anywhere. Buhari will complete his tenure. Those planting these senseless stories just want to extort Atiku and he knows this,” Adeyanju tweeted.
