Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted His Royal Highness, Da Gyang Balak Gut, the Da Gwom Rwei of Vwang District of Jos South Local Government Area of the Plateau State.

Reports obtained by Naija News on Monday morning revealed that the traditional ruler was kidnapped on Sunday night while on his way to Vom, a distance not so far from the gate of the National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru in Jos South LGA.

The recent event is coming barely a month after a group of gunmen kidnapped a paramount ruler in the state.

Confirming the Sunday night attack, the military task force responsible for the maintenance of peace in the state, code-named Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), said measures have been taken to get hold of the criminals.

Spokesman of OPSH, Major Ishaku Takwa, who confirmed the incident, said, “Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in conjunction with other security agencies are on trail of the kidnappers.

“God’s willing, the security agencies will soon close-up on the criminals”, he maintained.

Meanwhile, a yet-to-be ascertained number of people have been reportedly killed after gunmen stormed a community in Kebbi State on Sunday midnight.

Reports obtained by Naija News on Monday morning confirmed that the assailants raided Dan-Kade village in Unashi district under the Zuru chiefdom of Kebbi.

One Bello Dankade, a resident who reportedly confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters said, “Many were killed and their corpses burnt, we can’t tell the number of fatalities right now.

“We are left wondering why terror killings seem to be on the rise, particularly in the North-West region,” Dankade exclaimed.
