A young lady in Bauchi State has broken her leg just a few hours before her wedding ceremony.

Naija News understands that the resident of Jangyar village in the Bogoro Local Government Area of the State, was involved in an accident during the Yuletide holidays.

It was reported that the accident happened while the lady’s brother, Nenfort was conveying his sister (the bride-to-be) on his motorcycle to Gyara on Sunday, 26th December 2021.

Nenfort sister’s wedding was said to have been scheduled for 28th December.

The unfortunate accident reportedly claimed Nenfort’s life. However, despite her condition and the unfortunate demise of her brother, the wedding was still held as scheduled, Naija News learnt.

A friend of the late Nenfort, James who spoke with journalists on Tuesday said he communicated with the deceased on Sunday morning, only to hear later that his friend died in an accident.

That Sunday morning I spoke with Nenfort to take me to Lafiya Sara but he reluctantly declined, pleading that he wanted to go to church. I understood with him and let him go.

“I was at home when a friend told me about the accident and I could not stop sorrowing,” James said.

Speaking further, James said while the deceased sister’s wedding was going on they received the sad news that two young persons, Miss Ruth John, a resident of Ndukum and Mr Wulumbu, an indigene of Gambar Lere village, were found dead at Samiya village.

The duo, who was said to have just returned to the state from Lagos, was found dead early morning of Tuesday, with an unconfirmed report claiming that they were hit by a vehicle while returning from a wedding ceremony.

Another source who pleaded anonymity informed that a woman also lost her life in a motor accident on Monday at Tundu Wada.

The latest sad development makes it a record of four people who died in the local community within the Yuletide break, Naija News reports.
