Eight Prophets Die In River While Trying To Retrieve Holy Stick

Some prophets have drowned in Zimbabwe while competing to retrieve a holy stick from a  river.

The prophets numbering eight in number drowned in a river in Mashonaland Central Province, Zimbabwe on Saturday, October 30. They were from the Vadzidzi vaJeso Apostolic sect.

The incident occurred around 2 pm at the Hungumwe River. The prophet had fallen into a trance during their annual Passover ceremony and went into the river to recover a holy stick which led to their death.

Local media also confirmed the reason for the competition and stated that they were trying to select the baptist.
Timothy Maregere, the provincial development coordinator for Mashonaland Central Province who corroborated the incident stated that the prophets were ten in number and two had survived.
He said: “The group consisted of 10 ‘prophets’ and only two survived.” 

Naison Dhliwayo, Mashonaland, central deputy police spokesperson released the names of the deceased Nickson and they were Singano (29), Peter Marera (31), Tendai Marera (28), Alexeio Makombe (26), Tichawana Katiyo (32), Isaac Dokora (21), Lanciot Dokora (34) and Chriswell Kunyengerera.

In other news, the Taliban In Afghanistan have said that some guests at a wedding were murdered by their members for playing music at a wedding.

The dire incident which occurred on Friday night, October 29 was carried out by three gunmen who alleged to be members of the Taliban.

Spokesperson of the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters at a press conference on Sunday, October 31 that the assailants attacked a  wedding reception that took place in the Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar Province.

Reports have it that not less than two people were murdered and ten injured in the incident.

Mujahid explained that members of the Taliban were not allowed to kill anyone for playing music and further investigation would be carried out to confirm that it was not a personal vendetta. Read More
