Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji has charged Nigerians to be the change they want to see as Nigeria celebrates 61st independence.

Taking to her Instagram page, Genevieve Nnaji shared photos of a young boy holding proud the Nigerian flag in the background.

According to the 42-year-old actress, Nigerians should ensure that they speak good about the country wherever they find themselves, adding that it takes heart to be Nigerian.

In her own words; “It takes heart to be Nigerian. Nigeria is not you. You are Nigeria. Be the reason they speak good about us wherever you are. Happy Independence to you in particular.”

Naija News reports that Nigeria’s Independence Day is celebrated every October 1st to mark our independence from colonial rule under the British government.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of making life difficult for Nigerians in the past six years.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the accusation while addressing newsmen at the party’s national headquarters on Thursday.

He described the six years of President Buhari administration as the worst in Nigeria’s history as an independent, sovereign state.
