Kaduna: ECWA Breaks Silence On Murder Of Pastor Silas Ali

The murder of Rev Silas Yakubu Ali in Kaduna State has been confirmed by the Evangelical Church Winning All.

The development was confirmed in a statement sent by ECWA Zonon District Church Council to branches.

The murdered cleric was the Senior Pastor of ECWA in Kibori and formerly DCC Assistant Secretary.

Naija News had earlier reported that Ali was killed on Saturday in Zango within the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

The clergy according to reports departed Kafanchan on Saturday, September 11 and was not heard from since then until his lifeless body was found.

A search party found the remains of the pastor on Sunday morning at Kibori community, near Asha-House, where he was attacked and macheted to death.

The church leadership and Ali’s family will announce burial arrangements.

Recall that the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, while confirming the incident appealed for calm after the gruesome killing of the Christian clergyman.

He said, “The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai expressed deep sadness at the report of the killing, which he described as horrifying and cruel. The Governor offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the cleric.

“Going further, Governor El-Rufai sent his condolences to the family of Reverend Silas Yakubu Ali, and the ECWA Church in Kibori-Asha House, as he prayed for God to grant them fortitude and comfort over this sudden and painful loss.

“The Governor urged security agencies to intensify efforts towards apprehending the perpetrators of the heinous killing while appealing to members of the community to maintain calm. Security agencies are conducting investigations in the general area.”
