Gunmen in Kogi State have tragically killed Pastor David Musa, a clergyman affiliated with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), after collecting N1 million ransom.

He was said to have been killed on Tuesday night after the gunmen collected N1 million ransom from his family. News of his murder was broken on the social media platform of the church on Wednesday morning.

The short message reads: “It is with a heavy heart, but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting a ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers be with the family, the Church, and the DCC in this trying moment.”

The abduction of Pastor David Musa was initially reported on Saturday, November 11, coinciding with the Kogi State governorship election. He was reportedly taken captive in the Obajana area.

The late Pastor, formerly in charge of ECWA Bishara, Ajaokuta, met a gruesome end, intensifying anxiety among his congregation and the general populace of the state.

Notably, the Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road has witnessed a surge in insecurity. Gunmen frequently operate along this route, engaging in abductions and contributing to a rising toll of fatalities.

In a previous incident in September, an army Major and 26 others were forcefully taken into the bush near Kabba town. While some regained their freedom after a week in captivity, the fate of others remained uncertain.
