Former Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi Meets Gov Sanwo-Olu

Former captain of the Super Eagle, Mikel Obi, on Tuesday met with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The development was disclosed by the former Chelsea player in a post on his Instagram account.

The 34-year-old commended the Lagos State Governor for his unique strategic engagement towards advancing youth sports in Lagos.

He wrote, “Special thanks to H.E, Governor of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for a unique strategic engagement towards youth enablement and the advancement of sports in Lagos State.”

This is coming less than two weeks after the former Stoke City midfielder visited the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

President Muhammadu Buhari-led governor a few days after appointed Mikel Youth Ambassador.

The appointment of Mikel was confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare at an event held at the National Stadium, Lagos.

The Minister described the footballer as a “role model whose lasting legacies in football development has continued to have a positive impact on youths in the country.”
