The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has submitted that the IGP’s office and the appointment are not governed by general provisions of the law which apply to the rest of the police force.

Adamu argued that the tenure of his appointment as the Police IG would only lapse in either 2023 or 2024 depending on when counting started.
