Magu Could Not Account For Missing N431m Security Vote - Salami panel

The special presidential probe panel set up to investigate the activities of the suspended Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu will present its report to President Muhammadu Buhari today.

The panel, headed by Justice Ayo Salami (rtd) was given the mandate to probe the activities of Magu while in office as the head of the EFCC, Nigeria’s foremost anti-corruption agency.

Naija News understands Justice Salami and members of the panel are already at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja armed with four boxes containing exhibits from their sittings.

It will be recalled Magu was accused of corruption and abuse of office by Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the federation.

Malami also forwarded a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari recommending the sack of Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Malami in his petition against Magu as the EFCC boss to the President, listed 22 weighty allegations against him to justify the recommendation of his sack from office.

Following the petition, President Buhari approved a panel of inquiry to investigate the claims against Magu.
