NULGE President, Ibrahim Khaleel Is Dead

Ibrahim Khaleel, the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and Treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has died.

Naija News reports that the NULGE president slumped and later passed away at his Abuja residence on Wednesday.

Zamfara Govt Mourns

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has extended his condolences to the NULGE and the Kano State government.

The Zamfara governor who expressed shock, disclosed that he was with the late NLC treasurer at the Government House, Gusau, along with the Zamfara NULGE officials on Tuesday.

In a statement to newsmen, Matawalle described Khaleel’s death as “a great lesson to leaders at all levels to fear Allah in discharging their responsibilities as death can occur at any time.”

He noted that Khaleel’s contributions would remain indelible in the minds of many labour leaders, especially his simplicity, hard work, honesty and humility to all.

“Matawalle extended his heartfelt condolences to the NULGE, Nigeria Labour Congress, Kano State Government and the deceased’s immediate family for the great loss and prayed Almighty Allah to reward his soul with Jannatul Firdaus and give them the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement reads in part.
