3 Top NESG Directors Resign After False Allegation Against CBN Governor

Three top members of the board of directors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) have voluntarily resigned from their position.

Naija News Understands that the resignation of the top officer the financial agency is coming few days after a controversial press release that purportedly claimed Godwin Emefiele was seeking immunity. The report also attacked the recent macroeconomic policies approach of the CBN in ensuring economic stability.

However, the much-publicized and controversial attack on the apex bank did not go down well with some of the directors, whom the insider source revealed where sidelined.

The disagreement amongst members of the Board and Group over the management’s sustained and unfounded criticisms of some of the policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government and Godwin Emefiele-led CBN got to the apex over the latest controversial rejoinder issued by the Laoye Jaiyeola’s led body.

As a response of disapproval to the body’s constant unfounded criticism, at least three directors namely – Kennedy Uzoka, the Group Managing Director of UBA Plc; Adesola Adeduntan, Managing Director of First Bank and Abubakar Suleiman, Managing Director of Sterling Bank Plc abruptly tendered their resignations on Wednesday.
