Eyitayo Jegede Withdraws From 2024 Ondo Governorship Race

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede, on Monday visited the former Governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko, ahead of the October 10 election.

It was reported that Jegede arrived at the residence of the former governor in Ondo town, Ondo State around 8 pm, in company with some of the chieftains of the party.

However, the discussion of the meeting was not disclosed but it was gathered that the aim of the meeting was due to the governorship ambition of Jegede.

Jegede was reported to have visited Mimiko to seek his support in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The media aide of Mimiko, Mr John-Paul Akinduro, confirmed the development.

He said, “I was not at the meeting but it is true that Mr Jegede visited my boss on Monday evening.”
