The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu was on Monday reportedly arrested by the Department of the State Services.

It was reported that a panel investigating the activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday invited Magu.

However, security operatives at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, hindered State House correspondents from gaining access to where the acting Chairman of EFCC is currently being questioned.

Naija News had earlier reported that Magu was picked up by operatives of DSS and moved to the Presidential Villa to appear before a panel said to have been set up to investigate some allegations levelled against him.

The security operatives who tried to enter the facility were turned by as one of the security operatives told the reporters that “They said you people should excuse the use of this place today.”

Naija News recalls that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) had asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Magu.

Malami in a petition forwarded to President Buhari listed 22 weighty allegations against Magu to justify the recommendation of his sack from office.
