Men of the Nigeria Police Force, Osun State command reportedly in intercepted a vehicle conveying the remains of a suspected Coronavirus (COVID-19) patient.

According to the report, the vehicle coming from Ibadan into the state was intercepted on Sunday evening at the Odo-Oba boundary on Ibadan/Iwo road.

It was revealed by a source that the body was suspected to have died of the novel virus in Oyo State.

Naija News gathered that the body, identified as one Yusuf Ishola was carried in a Mazda 323 car, grey in colour, registered as KFS 409 EH.

The car driven by Ismaila Ademola was said to belong to one Mrs Texaco.

“Security operatives and some officials escorted the vehicle and body back to the Divisional Police Officer, Adebayo Michael, at Iyana Offa in Oyo State,” said the source.

Confirming the report, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo had directed closer monitoring of boundary towns.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday night, reported thirty-eight new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
