Abba Kyari Reportedly Sick, Suspected Of Contracting Coronavirus – Sahara Reporters

The Chief of Staff to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari is reportedly sick days after returning from aa foreign trip.

According to SaharaReporters Kyari had been down with sickness since returning from a trip to Germany and Egypt, this has been causing panic that he may be down with the dreaded Coronavirus.

Egypt has so far registered 327 cases of the respiratory disease caused by the virus, including 14 fatalities, its health ministry said on Sunday.

Though coughing severely, Kyari is said to have been attending meetings including with Buhari, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, ministers and other members of the Federal Executive Council.

Four Additional Cases Of Coronavirus Confirmed In Nigeria

Four additional cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in a statement on Monday night, adding that three of the additional cases are in Lagos State while one was discovered at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

A statement by the NCDC reads as thus; “Four new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT

“Two of these cases are returning travellers

“As at 11:00 pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded,” the statement added.

FG Closes All Land Borders, Suspends FEC Meetings Over Coronavirus

The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has closed all land borders in Nigeria for four weeks over the outbreak of coronavirus.

Naija News reports that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on coronavirus (COVID-19), Boss Mustapha, announced this on Monday evening.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation also said the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday, March 26 has also been postponed.
