Coronavirus: NCDC DG, Ihekweazu Quarantined After Returning From China
The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu, has been quarantined for 14 days following his arrival from China.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, revealed this on Tuesday when he met with the senate.
Ehanire during his visit to the National Assembly said Ihekweazu has been quarantined in its activities to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The minister who updated that the senate on the activities of his ministry noted that Ihekweazu was quarantined because he just returned from China.
In a related development, recall that the House of Representatives on Tuesday closed its legislative activities for two weeks over Coronavirus scare.
The resolution was reached following the adoption of a motion by Unyime Idem. Entitled “emergency response to the dreaded coronavirus.”
