Former vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for putting a travel ban on travellers from foreign countries into Nigeria.

Naija News understands that the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party took to his verified Twitter account to applaud the leadership of the country for heeding to their outcry by suspending all flights from foreign countries who have a high record of the Coronavirus.

He wrote: “I commend the FG for heeding to our calls by putting in place a policy of restriction on travellers from countries with high Coronavirus cases. I call on Nigerians to adhere strictly to @WHO and @NCDCgov protocols on personal hygiene and social distancing. -AA”

Atiku’s statement was coming a few moments after the Federal Government of Nigeria imposed a visa ban on the nationals of 13 endemic countries to check the spread of the coronavirus, Naija News reports.
