Bayelsa Deputy Governor Clears The Air On ‘NYSC Certificate Forgery’

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has denied presenting a forged exemption certificate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News reports that the Bayelsa Deputy Governor made this known during a media briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital through his counsel, Clement Kekemeke.

This online news platform understands that a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, Benjamin Youndiowei, made the allegation against Ewhrudjakpo in November 2019.

The Bayelsa Deputy Governor explained that NYSC made a spelling error on his surname and he had written to the body, notifying it of the error and asked it to correct the mistake and reissue another certificate with his name written correctly, which NYSC carried out.

“The position of my client is that he never forged NYSC exemption certificate,” his counsel said.
