UNIBEN Proceed On Vacation Due To Hostel Renovation

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced a one-month vacation for its students due to the renovations of hostels by the Edo State Government for the upcoming 2020 National Sports Festival.

The vacation will start on Feb. 20, approximately one month before the 2020 National Sports Festival hosted by Edo State.

The Public Relations Officer of UNIBEN Dr Benedicta Ehanire said this in an interview on Thursday in Benin.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN prof. Lilian Salami did some alleviating measures before the state government start the renovations.

She repaired street lights around hostels, grasses were cleared, there were steady water and power supply in the hostels.

She also carried out massive renovation of the classroom blocks and refurbishing of desks and chairs.

The PRO said the students vacated due to the upcoming 2020 National Sports Festival, which would start on March 20 and end April 4.

She then advised students to make use of the opportunity by learning a skill or work to earn income before the institution resume.
