Fani-Kayode Backs calls for Buhari to resign

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has broken his silence on the recent calls for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation.

Naija News recalls the Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe while contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by the Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi on national security, called for the resignation of President Buhari.

Abaribe accused Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of having failed Nigerians.

The call has attracted several reactions from different calibres of Nigerians with the presidency slamming Senator Abaribe for making such a call.

Adding his voice to the reactions, Fani-Kayode said on Twitter that “I commend my friend, brother & in-law, Sen. Abaribe, for having the courage to call for the resignation of President Buhari. A President that refuses to protect his people from killer herdsmen & bloodthirsty terrorists ought to not only resign but also bury his head in shame.”

Commenting on the response from the presidency through Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s spokesperson, Fani-Kayode said: “When the Presidency refers to the leader of the minority in the Senate as an “armchair critic” you know they are cursed. When will Shehu Garbage stop talking rubbish? If anyone should be in jail it is not Abaribibe but the calamitous affliction that he speaks for called Buhari.”
