Why PDP Lost Bayelsa, Kogi Elections - Governor Dickson

The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has predicted that the Peoples Democratic Party will win in the November 16 governorship election while the All Progressives Congress will lose out.

Dickson while speaking with newsmen stated that his confidence is based on the presence of supporters at the campaign venues of the PDP across the constituencies.

The Bayelsa governor added that the dominance of the ruling party in the state is not under any threat from APC.

He commended the exceptional performance of his administration and political tolerance that treated all politicians, including the opposition, with respect.

Gov. Dickson further stated that his government had made history by providing an enabling environment for all political parties to campaign around the state without any breach of the peace.

He further stated that the political parties in the state have been carrying out their campaigns without any report of violence and killings because of the security policies sustained over the years.

Dickson said, “Few days to a governorship election, for the first time, we are seeing a Bayelsa that is calm. There are no explosions, no major security breaches, no hoodlums threatening people. Even though some of the APC rallies in Yenagoa have been characterised by a lot of brigandage, it’s nothing compared to the past.”

He charged the people of the state to cast their votes for the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Douye Diri and Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo in order to ensure continuity in the state.
