Dangote Set To Renovate MKO Abiola Stadium In Preparation To Host FIFA Tournament

Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote, is set to renovate the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

This was disclosed by the minister for youth and sports development, Sunday Dare, who noted that work is set to begin on the stadium in the next two weeks.

This Dare said while fielding questions from journalists on Thursday, 7th November.

According to the Minister “Abuja is coming back up,” he said.

“Already we have gotten Dangote, I can say that he has agreed to bring back the Abuja football pitch, the light, and scoreboard.

“Work will start in another one or two weeks.

The sports minister noted that the same pitch model in several stadia , especial the three other big ones in the country would be followed.

Dare said between now and March, 2020, there would be four big stadia, foot scoreboard,  FIFA scoreboard.

And I think given time, within a year this country should be ready to host virtually any FIFA soccer tournaments.” He added.
