Supreme Court Delivers Final Judgement On 2019 Presidential Election

Naija News has obtained the full official list of Supreme Court justices that will hear and deliver a ruling on the 2019 presidential election dispute.

The seven-man panel is headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed.

As earlier reported, the Supreme Court will today, Wednesday, hear the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar against the judgment of the presidential election petitions tribunal.

It will be recalled that the Presidential Election Tribunal (PEPT) had dismissed the petition of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku, against the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, the PDP and Atiku approached the Supreme Court to appeal the ruling of the Justice Mohammed Garba-led tribunal which affirmed President Buhari’s victory at the polls.

The full list of justices to hear the Supreme Court case are:

1. CJN Tanko Mohammed

2. Bode Rhodes-Vivour

3. Amiru Sanusi

4. Uwani Abaji

5. Ejembi Eko

6. John Inyang Okoro

7. Olukayode Ariwoola

Our correspondent, however, observed Sylvester Ngwuta and Mary Odili, both senior justices, are not listed on the panel.

It is a tradition at the supreme court for senior justices, including the CJN, to preside over presidential election appeals.
