1. Buhari To Meet S/Africa President, Ramaphosa

The Presidency has maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari‘s visit to South Africa to meet with Cyril Ramaphosa over the latest Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians remains on course.

2. Edo: Oshiomhole Speaks On Rift With Obaseki

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has stated that his feud with Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State was not personal.

Speaking on Channels TV on Saturday, Oshiomhole stated that the rift was neither about money nor appointments.

3. Armed Protesters Ask Foreigners To Leave South Africa

Armed protesters have currently taken to the streets of South Africa to violently demand that foreigners return to where they came from.

A South African newspaper, Sowetan Live reports that the protesters, who carried weapons such as knobkerries, are waiting to be addressed by Mangosuthu Buthelezi, a notable politician and Zulu tribe leader.

4. FCT Minister Sends Warning To Politicians, Parties Ahead Kogi Election

FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has warned politicians and political parties to mind their utterances ahead of the Kogi governorship election.

5. Xenophobia: Special Envoy Returns To Brief Buhari

The Special envoy sent to South Africa by President Muhammadu Buhari following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians has returned to the country.

The special envoy who is also the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, returned to the country after he met with President Cyril Ramophosa of South Africa.

Despite its proscription by a Nigerian Court, the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, have fixed Tuesday for its annual Ashura procession.

Naija News understands that the Ashura procession, also called the Day of Ashura, is the tenth day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar.

7. Xenophobia: South Africa Speaks On Bomb Explosion At Its Embassy

Ambassador Bobby Moroe, the South African Acting High Commissioner to Nigeria, has dismissed reports that his country’s mission in Nigeria was damaged by bombing.

The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed rumours that its leader had dumped Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a statement by its publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, the PDP accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being desperate to blackmail Makinde.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has reportedly picked his Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja, as his running mate for the upcoming governorship election.
