The Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has approved the Professor Kenneth S. Adeyemi, as the acting Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University.

The development was revealed in a statement released by Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi S. Alikinla.

The incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Abdulrasheed Na’allah, was ordered to hand over to the acting Vice Chancellor and proceed on terminal leave ahead of the end of his tenure in July.

In the statement, Adeyemi was ordered to take charge of responsibilities relating to the smooth running of the institution in accordance with the law establishing it.

The Commissioner stated that the Kwara State Governor took the decisions in respect to the powers conferred on him by the Kwara State University Law 2009 as amended which empowers the Visitor to the University.
