Students Of OSUSTECH Protest Over Increase In School Fees

Academic activities has been shut down at the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State, after the students of the school took to the environs of the school to protest the increase in school fees introduced by the school’s management.

The Okitipupa-Igbokoda highway has been blocked by the students preventing vechicular movement within the axis.

Just few days ago, the students of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, also shut down the academic activities of the school over similar purpose.

Report into the closure of OSUSTECH has it that the students of the school are calling for a review of the school fees which is disclosed to be between the range of N150,000 and over N200,000.

Some of the students who reacted to the increase in the school fees stated that it an attempt by the state government to deprive them of getting tertiary education.

The student stated that the state of things in the country would make it hard for the student of the institution to meet such bills.

As at press time, the management of the institution are yet to make a statement.
