Further report has it that the action by security operatives may be connected to a planned protest by members of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State over the exclusion of their candidates from the general election.

Recall court orders have blocked the APC from fielding candidates for the 2019 general elections in Rivers state.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court judgment effectively ended all hopes for the party in the state when it struck out the case before it in connection with fielding candidates in Rivers state by the APC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also insisted that Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) has no candidates for the forthcoming elections.
