1. PDP’s endemic corruption helped me win 2015 election – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari ha revealed that his Party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) won the 2019 Presidential election due to the glaring endemic corruption that engulfed the country” during the regime of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government.

The president made this disclosure while declaring open the Corruption Risk Assessment training for heads and senior officials of Anti-Corruption Agencies in the African Union on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

2. EFCC denies arresting Atiku’s sons

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied claims that it apprehended sons of Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Mr Tony Orilade, EFCC’s Acting Spokesperson, made the denial in a statement in Abuja, on Monday.

3. Dogara says FG’s cash disbursement is vote buying ahead of 2019

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara, has condemned the distribution of cash to the public very close to general elections by public officials, saying no matter how noble the intent may be, such endeavors amount to vote buying and inducement, which is a clear case of corruption.

Dogara revealed this on Monday, while delivering remarks at a public hearing organised by the National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC.

4. CAN holds closed door meeting with Buhari, Atiku

The top two Presidential candidates contesting in the 2019 General Elections, yesterday met with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN at the National Christian Centre Abuja.

Rev. Samson Ayokunle, CAN president, while speaking to journalist stated that the reason for the meeting was to interview the candidates to know their plans for the country and the church if elected.

5. EFCC raids Abuja house of Atiku Abubakar’s sons

A building housing an apartment occupied by two sons of Atiku Abubakar was searched by anti-graft operatives in Abuja over the weekend.

The building also houses an apartment occupied by Chiemeka Orji, son of ex-Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji. That apartment was also reportedly searched by anti-graft operatives.

6. Oil marketers suspend strike, give FG five days ultimatum to pay subsidy claims

The earlier directive by the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) to its members to shutdown depots across the country has been suspended.

The body earlier instructed its members to stop loading petroleum products by midnight on Sunday.

The decision to suspend its planned strike was made known in the early hours of Monday by Olufemi Adewole, DAPPMAN’s executive secretary.

7. EFCC detains Doyin Okupe

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained Doyin Okupe, a former aide to the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan.

This was made known by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan who added that it was the season of assault and harassment of PDP members.

8. Presidency accuses PDP os spreading fake news

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of spreading fake news.

He said that both reports that the account of the PDP vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was frozen, and that of the raid of the residence of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s sons by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were all fake.

9. PDP rejects Kashamu as Ogun governorship candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted the senator representing Ogun East, Senator Kashamu Buruji is a desperate paid agent of anti-democratic forces working to cause confusion, trigger violence and bloodletting in the 2019 general election and derail our hard-earned democracy.

Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, said Ladi Adebutu remained the party’s candidate for the 2019 governorship election in Ogun state.

10. Declare armed herdsmen as terrorists – Anglican Bishops To Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to proscribe armed herdsmen as terrorists.

The Anglican Bishops in Nigeria gave this call while lamenting the rates of killings by armed herdsmen across the country.
