Boko Haram: Metele Attack Was Not Carried Out By Foreigners – Ahmad Salkida

Ahmad Salkida, a journalist known to have access to the leadership of the Boko Haram insurgent group, has counter the claims that the attackers were foreigners, Salkida said the attack was orchestrated by Nigerians.

PRNigeria, a news agency, had claimed that the terrorists who attacked the military base in Metele were foreigners.

One intelligence officer told PRNigeria on condition of anonymity that the attackers communicated in Arabic, French and other foreign languages and spoke in foreign accents.

PRNigeria quotes the officer as saying: “Some of our soldiers who escaped after the rescue operation told us that the attackers dressed in military camouflage similar to the one worn by member countries of Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

“We learned that the attackers were not Nigerians as they spoke in Arabic, French and other strange languages when they first appeared like friendly force before they started to shoot at Nigerian troops.

Countering the claim by the News agency and Nigerian Army Salkida twitted:

“The Ka’id that led the attack is one of the lead fighters within #ISWAP, said multiple sources, he led the attacks against several military facilities. He is Kanuri, who grew up in Maiduguri, majority of the fighters are in this for long. So, what is this matter about foreigners?”

Meanwhile in a recent report, the Nigerian Army said its troops repelled Boko Haram terrorists attack in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno state.
