According to Daily Post, some Gunmen on Friday, November, 9, 2018, attacked Policemen who were on “stop and search duty” leading to the death of an officer as they carted away two rifles and a pistol at Kowen Plaza in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

Further report revealed that other police officers who were on duty when the incident happened also sustained serious machete wounds.

The Policemen at the check point were reported to have been disarmed during the attack by the gunmen, who had macheted them before they left the area after shooting sporadically.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa, when contacted on the incident, confirmed the report.

CP Mustafa said, “It happened between 7-8pm. A policeman died during the attacks. They carted away two rifles and a pistol. The police are investigating the matter and I assure you that we will get to the root.
